Animal Behavior and Welfare

Home: Overview

Research

We use an integrative approach, blending animal behavior, physiology, and productivity, to improve animal welfare. We focus specifically on livestock and companion animals but also study various other species and fields.

Teaching

I teach a variety of animal science courses at Truman State University. Overall, my teaching goal is to create life-long learners and critical thinkers that have the ability to solve the challenges they encounter long after graduating.

The Team

Our team consists of Dr. Jessie Colpoys, an Assistant Professor at Truman State University, and undergraduate research assistants pursuing a variety of interests and research areas within animal science.
